I think chunkers have an advantage the daytime when fish tend to be deep, and in the fall when blues are feeding on top and bass are picking up the pieces below - a lot of good fish have gone to chunkers while everyone else is happy catching small blues. But chunking is a viable full time approach also.

I've caught heck for this before, but I still think that the true hybrid angler is a rarity. I don't know too many guys who do chunk and plug 50/50.

I've also been rethinking the "rules" of fishing with each new person I meet. True, there are basic rules that are in concert with fish behavior: nocturnal feeding, migration tactics, seasons, etc - but there is a lot of room for creativity with respect to fishing. The basic rules are more of a framework.
