When I have a large run I dip and hang. Oil base primer "gold label". Thinned approx. 30% - 40% to flow off plug. 2 coats covers well. I use a cardboard box with coat hanger wire across the opening and a roller drip tray to catch excess. I cut a slot horizontal at the bottom of one end to slide tray through.Once the majority drips off I pour the excess back in can.
