I gotta put my .02 in here. I would stay far away from any of the new diesels that use exhaust fluid. DEF, cow piss, urea water whatever you want to call it, the systems are extremely complicated and troublesome. We have 2 '11 GMC 3500's at work there have ben a few recalls and the mileage is terrible. They average about 7.5-10 mpg at best. I cant say much good about the ford 6.0 they have ben far from reliable and haven't heard much about the 6.7 that would make me wanna run out and but one. My '83 Chevy K30 crewcab with a 454 does , average of 10-11ish. Don't get me wrong, the older diesels are great, but things started to go down hill when the emission standards went up. EGR and catalytic converters both build an engines biggest enemy, heat.
