My battery life seems to be pretty much what it says in the manual for me. I definitely see the need of the extra batter pack and charger for days on the water where you are turning it on/off all day.
This is really made for shorter video clips not long videos. Managing these mega files will be challenging. It is still cool though.
Air temp will shorten battery life, keep them warm when not in use.

I got a battery charger AC/DC (handy for home/car/boat) and 2 batteries off Amazon for <$25.

I also picked up the LCD back screen. Comes with 4 new case back plates! Seems useful for trial runs to see if everything OK and easier reading/adjusting of the camera settings. Has its own on/off switch so minimal impact on battery life.

Given the diversity of the human species, there is no “normal” human genome sequence. We are all mutants.
