I was asked about heads on flies
it's all about THREAD an head size you looking for
1. material should NOT be stacked in bulk up to the eye. you need this to taper your head.
2. use smaller amounts of material when stacking.
3. thread size saltwater FLAT WAX THREAD will work fine.
4. amount of thread PER WRAP 3-5 is sufficient , seal an tie more on.
5. as you ad material taper it when wrapping.
6. I USE MONO THREAD .OO4.when wrapping materials ,then top of w/ colored thread then coat thread.
if your going to use mono you better get a ceramic bobbin so it doesn't CUT the mono.
7. if your going to put an eye on an epoxy it forget 1-6
just tie everything even an secure eye an epoxy will give you a nice round head.
that should do it.
