Thanks for all the feedback. On the boat I use Ande 60 mono, I used to fish the sandy beaches more and used Ande 30 mono or Segaur 30. Last few years have come down with a bad case of the "ditch-itis" and tried both Ande 40 mono and Seagaur 40. I dont really believe it makes a difference there on clarity issues, but found the flouro was more abrasion resistant. I do pre tie all my leaders and pay attention to knots and really setting them correctly while at home as the flouro can be a little tricky to cinch down correctly 100%of the time.
To Typhoon who runs wire straight - I am sure it works really well but for me the forgiveness / shock absorbsion / handling of the mono it makes it safer easier to land fish plus I think a few wraps around the spool keeps the springiness down. FYI I jig the rod so no glove like the jiggers use...
