And after the fact, Obama was against raising the gas tax.

Shoo back to your forum.

DING DING DING!
"The secretary of energy said that in 2008 before he was even in that role."

Right. And saying something that stupid would normally preclude him from being in that role. But heck, we have a tax cheat as Treasury Secretary, and we have an Attorney General who wants to try enemy combatants in US civilian courts, as well as giving machine guns to Mexican drug-runners so they can kill Americans more efficiently. So why not put one more certifiable lunatic in Obama's Cabinet?

"And with context its a bit different than YOU want it to come off."

Put it in any context you want. European-level gas prices are bad for most Americans, not good.

"and discouraging sprawl"

Oh, that's awesome!!!! Our energy secretary wants to make it too expensive for us to live in the suburbs. Has it occurred to him that we who live in the suburbs, like it there? That we're there for a reason?

Our energy secretary hopes that gas/oil becomes so expensive, that we'll all have to sell our houses and cars, move to big cities, and buy buss passes. And Likwid thinks that's a good thing.

Well this Marine says f*ck that and the commie liberal horse they (and you) rode in on.

Jesus God Almighty. Our Energy Secretary wants to herd us all back to the big cities. And Likwid is OK with that...
