Bought a 1985 Jeep CJ-7 a year ago this past March. $3,500.00. Directly into the shop for a transmission rebuild, complete brakes (all four corners), upper and lower ball joints, oh yeah, a few brake lines, some u-joints, almost $3,000.00 on that trip. Then a few more things...proportioning valve, master cylinder, and booster, $600.00...power steering box, $300.00...a little electrical rewiring (long story there) a total of about $800.00...five new BF Goodrich 32's, $650.00...new softop, new front seats, rear reciever hitch, bikini top, rod holder for front bumper (of course),

total for all that cool stuff was about $700.00.

Grand total, (roughly without looking at my receipt folder) $9,500.00.

Was I upset? No not really.

The previous owner told me pretty much what the jeep needed..ooops, forgot the front driveshaft, $250.00...total $9,750.00...I looked around at several CJ's as that is what I wanted due to the fact that I have owned several, and I really did'nt mind for the most part, other than a couple of the surprises we had along the way, but all in all, when I drive on the beach with all my gear at the ready and start casting to busting fish, it was all worth the money.

Still lots to do. Plans for a fiberglass body, new springs and shocks, and to rebuild the 318 Chrysler that lives under the hood or even add a 300 HP 360. Ask anyone that has seen it, it is a pretty cool rig. Topped it off with a vanity plate..."BIGFSH"...ooops, that was another $75.00...and on and on and on it goes.

Gone Fishing.
