RE:Rigged Eels

Damon, look for a book titled "Secrets of Surf Fishing at Night" written by William "Doc" Muller of Long Island. Published by Wavecrest Communications. I believe The Surfcaster catalog has it. It has a great illustrated chapter on how to rig eels, written by an old-time sharpie here, Al Bentsen. What he does to keep the eel from sliding down the front hook is solder a piece of 16 gauge single-strand copper wire around the hook shank. Sorta like a mouthpiece for the eel.
