yeah I'm sure there are a lot of noise pollution things that are technically against the law, just never enforced. Motorcycles are one of them, although some friends of mine have been ticketed for it...
although with something like this I can see some DB neighbor downloading a decibel meter app on his phone and calling the cops to complain!
