Free Montague bamboo rod

I have an old bamboo rod that I want to give away to someone who wants it... no longer a fishing tool but more of a decorator item... I showed a picture to Dana Gray who is a bamboo fly rod builder and has the most knowledge on this topic of anyone I know... here is what he said about this 3 piece rod that is not in the best of shape...

It has 2 tips... one has a broken end and the good one is missing a few guides

Nightfighter (Ross) has the 1st right of refusal on it but if he does not want it it is up for grabs to the first guy who respomnds that he wants it...

"The rod you have was most likely made by Montague roughly about 1915-1925.
These rods were mass produced to be sold under their own name, or very likely one of many retailers that had Montague make rods for them. There were literally hundreds of hardware stores, department stores and sporting goods stores that wanted to have their own name on rods that were sold in their stores. Montague supplied the lions share of them and made them by the thousands. At their peak, at their factory in Montague City, MA, Montague was pumping out about 15,000 rods a week ! These are often referred to as "trade" rods and were inexpensive when new, as evidenced by the sheet cork grip and inexpensive (nickel plated brass) fittings. Not a lot of value,in the condition you describe, maybe $25.- $40. on a good day. It is really more of a decorator than a fishing tool and nothing I would have a use or an outlet for, but I appreciate the offer. "
