THIS WED--FREE BUS--NEFMC Mid Water Trawl JUDGEMENT DAY

CHOIR/MSBA OFFERS FREE BUS TRIP TO MID WATER TRAWL JUDGEMENT DAY

On Wednesday June 20 in Portland Maine the New England Fisheries Management Council will be voting final decisions on amendment 5 to the Atlantic Herring Plan. Am 5 proposes to bring accountability to the industrial mid water trawl herring fleet. Amongst the long list of important issues under consideration are 100% monitoring, dumping of catch & by catch, protection of ground fish closed areas & protection of river herring. For over 5 years our fishing community has united under the CHOIR coalition banner and this meeting is JUDGEMENT DAY. Our community must make a strong show of force so that we let the managers know we insist on protecting forage and ending the harm done by the poorly monitored industrial fleet.

MSBA invites members and friends to obtain a FREE SEAT on a luxury coach to attend the meeting with other CHOIR organizations. WE NEED YOU to reserve your seat today by contacting MSBA Gov't Affairs Officer Patrick Paquette via email (BasicPatrick@aol.com) or by calling 781-771-8374 TODAY.
