Yeah, cross stacking in a sunny area helps a LOT. I put up 5 cords a year and have a very wooded lot. So I'm sure the lack of a decent area
to season my wood is what puts me at a solid 2 years for red oak unless it's a wicked dry summer. I do love the way it splits and burns though. Heck, It's faster to split by hand 90% of the time.
