hey bart, capts and mates should fish at times. i've seen mates hook a fish and pass it off to a kid or to a novice to give them a chance to tug on fish. i'm just saying if i was a paying customer on a partyboat, maybe the guys on either side of him or a regular that has spent thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours on that boat, i would just be left with a bad taste in my mouth. if a fellow angler hangs it - so be it. think of it this way - your on the rail, it's cold and you've been fishing your ass off all day and the captain comes out of the wheelhouse drops a line in for a 20 minutes and pulls up a beast.right next to you. odds are that fish was going to eat on that drop. just being a greedy angler i guess
