Hey Johnny,

Sounds like you are due. I have had mine about 7 years. I sent it in after 4. They swapped out some parts and did a once over. Cost like $105 ish. It's too nice of a reel to let deteriorate. I'd send it in, they will fix your issue and replace what needs replacing. Definitely worth $100 to keep it in top form. Shouldn't have to send it back for another 4-5 years.
