I only send my other reels in for service when they are acting up. which is more often than the vs. My emblem has to go every year along with my penn 975 sometimes twice or they would be unfishable. I don't mess with anything at all unless its giving me a problem. The 975 is being replaced next season as its a breakdown machine. Out of about 8 reels that get use only those 2 needed service.
