Sounds interesting enough,Your 25lb fish came after dark right? There you go.While you had fun with those 25 to 30 inch fish,there still school bass however,those are decent fish for august and you caught them,thats all that counts,I still feel you chances at a cow are 90% better at night.You have to stick with night time to land those biguns.
Boat fishing is totaly different from the surf,You can find big fish in the daytime easy with a boat and can fish deeper water that cant be reached from the shore.
Try dragging some skin plugs real slow behind that boat and hold on!! You will love it.
