I use a 4/3mm for most of the season, but a 6/5/4mm during colder times. I use surfing wetsuits because I surf as well, but also because they're better designed for movement and prevention of water intrusion than many dive suits. Visit a local surf shop. I use full suits for a few reasons, but high on that list is mosquito barrier. If ur fishing at night they will maraude you, and it might drive you to insanity, or at the very least ruin a potentially enjoyable outing. With a full suit you can spray your head and backs of ur hands with Off Backwoods and they'll avoid you completely. Another reason is abrasion resistance when clambering onto rocks. I'd rather let the suit take the wrath of the barnacles than my skin. Welcome to the club.
