I've yet to see a hawk in person...just on the web. They look a little like a Black Watch. 11.5' beam...that is nice and roomy. I seen a few old crosby striper's...a classic but a little dated for me.
"Custom" made in the US generally means well made but over priced. (a-la Hinckley)...I will have to look into it but I think my boat budget makes me more of a production boat guy. I have a few trips over to the cape planned later in the fall to look at boats (post derby/pre-boat shows) I'll swing by the yard and see whats happening. I could not find any used hawks on the market...that generally means that the current owners like them.
When is the Newport Show? Soon right?
