Reese contradicts himself. He says on the one hand "Those 545 people [the politicians], and they alone, are responsible. They, and they alone, have the power." Yet, on the other hand, he says that they "should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses."

So, if we are their bosses, why is there this Progressive belief that they should pretty much have the power to decide what and how is best for us? It seems that he wants to go back to some notion of We The People being the bosses. The past hundred years that he refers to is the time period in which we were Progressively and systematically demoted from boss to employee wherein, as Reese says, "They, and they alone, have the power."
