I don't paint the pvc plugs I turn... to me thats the benefit of useing pvc...no epoxy/paint/sealer...from lathe to surf in a hr...the stuff I got don't float as good as ceder...I seen a guy rip the plank down and with a table saw grove 1/2 a center hole on each side then glue it back together
and it was thru drilled
