Stick with the Ariens Mike. You can fix it and cheaper than a new one. Stuff does wear out and sounds like yours was at that point. Now that it is fixed should last a good while. Mine is really old 7 hp and after some work is still going strong. Probably just jinxed myself by saying that. Good luck.
