FWW - I prefer mono to mono but have been going to the spros when weedy. I have no problem knotting them. When of the reasons for swivels when eeling is because of spinners - not a problem with conventionals...
As for fishing with braids and powercasting? I don't really do either and get by fine with mono on the conventionals...
