I use it some. Let it dry over night, wear a face shield (laminated turnings can split from tail stock pressure). It doesn't require much moisture, just a quick wipe down on one side of the joint. You will need to clamp it (it foams and expands as it dries). You can also use it on screw eyes. Not truly waterproof (I think), but plenty resistant for a plug. Don't get it on your hands, it stays there a very long time.
