He didn't do it with the economic state of MA in mind. He did it to make money. The stadium, the new Patriots Place, even our beloved Pats are nothing but a business and are run as such.

My guess is that this footbridge will reduce Kraft's costs by decreasing the number of State Trooper details required in that area, help reduce the amount of time it takes for people to get out of the stadium and in turn, reduce Kraft's per/event expenses.

If there's a chance to pawn those costs onto the state by claiming the safety of fans, of course he would try to.

If the Patriots started not being profitable and had a weak long-term financial outlook, I guarantee the team would be on the selling block. In the end, this is a business.
