That's a stupid question. It's not even really a question. It's more like an idiot accusation that Conservatives hate consumer protections. Did you get that memo in your inbox? (Right, that's not really a question. It's a borrowed sarcastic ignorant jab like the one you poked at Fishpart.)

Conservatives hate deceptive labels meant to hide agendas which lead to more control by the Central Government, and which usually lead to results contrary to what the nice label implies. Labels like the Affordable Care Act, which actually cost most consumers more rather than what was promised as lower premiums. And it led to more Federal intrusion and control in US health care. And, if it is not radically changed or eliminated, it will probably lead to total government control of health care. Probably with new legislation or regulation with an attractive "consumer protection" type of label.

The point of my post was not that the FCC so-called "net neutral" regulation (right, "neutral" at the point of the federal gun) would or wouldn't "protect" consumers. The point was that the problem with Federal regulatory agencies is at least two-fold.

First, the way they operate is basically unconstitutional. They are vested with powers which the Constitution gives to Congress, the Executive, and the Courts. And the Constitution does not provide that those powers can be delegated.

And second, they are susceptible to unwarranted influence by lobbyists or Presidents (Republican or Democrat), so they are, in effect, not truly independent, non-partisan, objective, just the facts, advisory agencies

I understand from your previous comments that you're OK with all that. But "Conservatives" do "hate" that.

or any regulations that slows the fleecing of Hard working Americans .. But support anything to line the pockets of corporate America ... and insist Americans have a choice
Federal regulations which go beyond the scope of the government's enumerated powers unavoidably, and intentionally, lead to greater government control, with the concurrent diminishing of individual freedoms, as well as the gaining of more control of the marketplace.

It is usually government intervention which creates market conditions which "fleece" the pockets of hard working Americans. And those are also at least two-fold. First, by cronyism which creates regulations which favor large campaign-funding companies thereby restricting competition from innovators, and second by transferring money from the "hard working Americans" to said companies and to not so hard working Americans.

One could throw in a third-fold condition which is the amassing of unsustainable debt which in turn requires the excessive printing of money which helps the government pay the interest on the debt with inflated dollars which, at the same time, diminishes the value of the savings and purchasing power of "hard working" Americans, as well as that of those on fixed incomes such as pensions and social security.

So, not only does government cronyism help create the Big Business/Big Government fascism which strangles the market, it gives the central government that much more control of the market, and creates the desired effect of the appearance of the necessity for more government regulation to correct the problems government has helped to create. It is a continuous circle of events which grows government, depreciates market freedom, and helps to fleece the pockets of hard working Americans.

And the process is always made palatable with good sounding labels like "consumer protection." And the regulatory system makes this process easier and less harmful to the security of crony congressional or executive office holders.
