I told youuuuuu .. the black attracks heat from the sun( ever notice how a leave melts into the ice.. same principle)... thus the trap does not freeze in even if there is a filtered sun( uv rays)... and even at night or on cloudy days.. the ice breaks away freely.. unlike bare wood that builds thick layers of ice each time you clear the hole...
