Didn't they say the same things about Kennedy?
Buchanan may have gone too far in his comments (although I don't remember it at the time) but in general the Jewish interests in the US have been pretty quick to attack anything not in favor of Israel as anti-semetic. I'm of the opinion that there's plenty of room for critique.
This may be an interesting book to read...
