Hey StriperDoc, This time of year I look for Silversides or sandeels, on the south side of the cape as we already have the herring showing up in the runs. But the silversides and sandeels will keep the fish in the area longer. If there isn't anything for the fish to eat, they will not stick around.

This time of the year look at shallow water bays, salt rivers and marshy area's as they will warm up faster. If you walk along the shore line look along the grass patches, little ditches in the marsh and mussel beds and you will see if the smaller bait is there. You also want good moving water, try the lower end of the tides.

Hope this helps!!!
