What BBJ said.

The Reverse is a great plug and the amber is a killer - excellent squid imitator.

If you want to save your grand-dad's plug for sentimental reasons there's a slightly smaller version of the Reverse Atom being put out by An-Co Lures in East Providence and comes in amber, purple, deep red etc.

The little lure company is owned by John Anterni who was with Bob Pond in the 40's and made the first molds for him when Atom went to plastic.

I first met John at the RISAA show when he shared a booth with John Habs and Capt Don Cameron a few years back - John is probably 84 or 85 years young now and still fishes as I understand it. I heard he was at this year's RISAA show but missed him...

If ya ever get the chance to introduce yourself to John Anterni, do it - he has a lot of stories to tell if you listen. He's easy to recognize in South County - he's an 80-something year old who's probably still as nimble as most guys in their 30's.

(JohnR, you can remove this if you feel it's inappropriate - just wanted to let guys know a reverse is still being produced)

"There is no royal road to this heavy surf-fishing. With all the appliances for comfort experience can suggest, there is a certain amount of hard work to be done and exposure to be bourne as a part of the price of success." From "Striped Bass," Scribner's Magazine, 1881.
