Jim, it's the leftist trick to say Trump called the media the enemy of the people. He said fake news is the enemy of the people. Deliberately leaving out his word "fake" when supposedly quoting him creates the false (fake) impression that he meant all media or all news or media or news in general.
Language twisting and word redefinition is a prominent feature of propaganda.
