I think many of us can relate. I know I can most of the time. I tend to be a loner when I fish - gives me the opportunity to free my mind without too many distractions (read other people ) . That said I still enjoy my time fishing with groups as I have organized many over the years. But some of the participants I've fished with have been obsessed and add more stress than enjoyment so to speak.

Whenever I speak to kids who are interested in fishing I make sure to tell them that fishing is a passion and everyone should have a passion.
And that fishing will be something that they will always be able to do without having to depend on others so when they need time alone in life - they can seek refuge in their passion.
