I don't know about that...duringthe 2008 campaign, McCain was asked how long he thoughtthe troops needed to be in the Middle East, and McCain said something to the effect of "until we can safely bring them home, as long as that takes". And he was absolutely crucified for that remark.

Candidate Obama on the other hand, talked about bringing them home more quickly. Then, of course, he doesn't do anything of the sort, because President Obama realizes that Candidate Obama said some unrealistic things to make his opponent look bad (just for being honest).
