TDF, you know what I've heard about Charlotte? On the outskirts of the city are areas that look and feel like suburbs, but are technically still part of the city. Yep, when my buddy moved down there about 5 years ago he moved into a neighborhood in Charlotte that had that feel. he paid $35k cash for a small 2 BR house w/ a small backyard. just perfect for him.
