I've fished the knubble at the mouth of the river during big surf and it is very entertaining ( and scary) to watch boaters come out of the calm water of the river, then see them hesitate before trying to gun it through the swells. And once through, realizing they dont want to be out there, and make the turn to come back in.
PS ....I have done that very same thing at times.
