Bedroom furniture

As a self employed cabinetmaker with lots of other interests and obligations I had procrastinated for 25 years building a bedroom set for my wife Melissa. This past winter I finally got to it and it was enjoyable having the time to take my time with no deadline. Even though there was a slight interruption(due to work) of getting the handles completed, it was all worth it in the end as she is very pleased. We like shaker style but I wanted something a bit more pleasing and more character so a few years ago my friend Sean told me look at Greene and Greene, I found a book and researched and then found sources for special tools and I came up with modified plans similar to some pieces by Darrell Peart. There is way more that goes in to furniture design than you would think, the Greene and Greene actually follows this formula for proportions and is a bit complicated. I had to determine all dimensions from photos as I had no plans. I chose Sapele Mahogany with Ebony accents. His website is quite elaborate.

I made 2 tall dressers, a low wide one for here and 2 nightstands.

Here is a kind of long video of my process. it shows pictures along the way and some are of the ridiculous number of jigs and fixtures I needed to make for this project.

The United States Constitution does not exist to grant you rights; those rights are inherent within you. Rather it exists to frame a limited government so that those natural rights can be exercised freely.

1984 was a warning, not a guidebook!

It's time more people spoke up with the truth. Every time we let a leftist lie go uncorrected, the commies get stronger.
