Martin Luther King and Global Warming cause...

higher jobless claims last week...

this is good.....claims "Unexpectedly" jumped and the reasons given were...the MLK holiday which seems odd because I thought the claims went down when there were fewer days that the office was open and also, the cold regional temps brought on by global warming spreading snow across 49 of the 57 states cause employers to abruptly lay off workers despite signs that the economy is going gangbusters...sort of...

"It's impressive to finally see unemployment claims fall below 400,000," said Stuart Hoffman, chief economist with PNC Financial Services, who said that if there were a magic number for unemployment claims, 400,000 would be it.

Hoffman said the data can get distorted around the holiday period, and this week's number included the Christmas holiday
