You can get right up to the building--about 6 feet from the bricks. I'm not sure of the weight of the unit, but it can't be too heavy, maybe a 150lbs...
It might be a bit higher than 50ft, but the lifting zone is a bit elevated so you don't have to lift the entire height of the building.
