Im guessing your talking about the MB1083M when you say it can only cast up to 1.5oz.

The GSB1081L I would classify as a fast action blank. Since I like to use a light drag setting It cuts off at the top 1/3. I would classify the MB1083M as a moderate action rod.

GSB1081L Is too stiff for lures under 2 oz IMO.

MB1083M Is perfect for most lures around 2 oz & less IMO.

Then again you could use either rod for lures up to 2.5 oz no problem. Its a matter of personal preference. You need to hold the blank to know what you want then factor in that it will stiffen up slightly with epoxy/guides/& type of wraps/length you use for your guides.

Both are about the same weight. even though one is glass. No single rod does it all. & asking that one rod works all lures in 1-3 oz range equally well & works well when you hook up is asking alot of a single rod.

Standing on the water, casting your bread
While the eyes of the idol with the iron head are glowing
Distant ships sailing into the mist
You were born with a snake in both of your fists while a hurricane was blowing
