when I reworked the duct work for the lathe I removed 6' of flex hose going to the floor sweep... by adding a 4" t-Y anda length of 4' pipe I increased the flow dramaticly... it also provides a clean out if the duct should need cleaning... ( I didn't do the math on this one it was a no brainer) I also added a take off for a vacume hose.. this hose is great for cleaning up around the lathe but also serves as a hose connection for the table top band saw and any of the belt sanders...

I have a second lathe that is on casters.. I used to move it around the shop... I gave it a perminant home and it's own hose drop...
