Cool

SF-

It's a productivity gimmick. If ya get free food, you don't have to spend an hour getting lunch. From company's point of view, cheaper.

Have fun at the 4S.

MikeCC,
Is my grill still down at the shop?
I might fly down and get it tonight before it gets plowed into a snow bank for the winter/

Happy Holidays MikeCC. Hows my rod coming? I just saw your post and thought I'd chime in.

I like those snowless winters, the boat fairs better, now it will look like one big mass of road salt. No fishing this weekend, fumes, fumes and more fumes.

I say let it snow like hell,
but I'm hoping someone on this board can help me with this.
I'm a snow plow contractor for the state and have my Nextel phones with the GPS tracking devices for my trucks.
I'm trying to figure out how to interface my Garmin gps with one of the Nextels, just to mess with the state officials, to make it look like I'm driving my truck out on the ocean!

Use to trucks!! then you can park one while having coffee while you are really doing some driveways. Then go get the phone and do some plowing.
Then when you need to go to do some more driveways you do the same thing!

Ready

Got my boots out, heavy coat and lots of gas and oil for the snow blower.

Southern New Hampshire scheduled for 9 to 15 inches but I'm sure the wife will be utterly amazed by Sunday. If she relates my description of measurement, the first inch of snow she'll be saying "look 12 inches of snow already"

My wife said "If it snows more than 1 inch I'm outta here!"
Gee I'm gonna miss her (until the spring)!

Sandman:
A guy I work with is going to bring me his slightly used volkls.
They are 1999 vintage, I'm gonna try them and may consider buying them and shelving my salomons.

If I don't like them, they may end up in the classifieds.
i don't know anything about volkl skis....

Van,
Currently I am skiing salomans as well, (SCREAMs). They are 2 years old, this will be thier 3rd season. Last season I test skied a pair of volkls, after taking a lesson in stowe and the instructor had them, he was an amazing skiier. I can keep up with most anyone but this guy was something to behold, and in complete control on the most severe slick slopes. I had to throttle way back, which is rare for me.
I later test skiied them when I saw them in the pro shop a couple days later. They were really sweet. Softer and wider with more shape then my salomons and didn't require nearly the effort to change direction. It was like they are majic and could read you mind. These were their newest models. I think skiis have changed a lot since 1999 believe it or not. Sort if like ties, the width keeps changing.
Anyway I will probably keep my salmons till the end of the season and by this years volkls on my last trip of the season. When it comes to skiis I always buy a new pair every every few years and just tradin mine for some lame discount off the newones.

I agree, I was in ski market the other day and noticed how much fatter the new sets are. Not long either, it seems 170-175 is as long as needed for the parabolics.

I will see what these volkls look like.
I was considering new skis this year,,,,,till I saw the $$$$$$$$$.
I could buy boat fuel for 2 seasons for that. So I'll stay with my salomons (verse) is the model, or maybe used skiis if they are good.
