There's skim ice on some of the calmer areas of the bays on Long Island, too.

Thumbs up

I love to ice fish. In 1989 we had safe ice on the Cape before Christmas. On Christmas Eve day myself and Dave LaPorte were on Peter's Pond in Sandwich on 8 inches of black hard ice and it began to snow. We were the only ones on the pond and It didn't look like anyone else had been on it yet. We got a bout six inches of snow before it got dark and we had to pick up. We got a bunch of nice Browns and a couple rainbows, they weren't stocking Salmon as yet back then. It was the best Christmas Eve I ever had. Had good ice last year hope we get it again this year.

Isn't it great ice fishing when it is snowing out, I mean snowing hard! It is just beautiful! Last winter I was ice fishing in Plymouth one day and it was gray and snowing and it was just beautiful.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!
