Angry Dunkin Grumpage!!!

When was the last time you went to Dunkin Donuts and placed your order and got it without having to translate your order from english to a new language that is a combination of pointing, waving, and repeating what you already said three times and then the other counter help who speaks "real good" broken english comes over and you have to place your order for the fourth time and it still gets &^(%#@ up all because for some reason Dunkin Donuts is on a "Hey, lets hire a whole bunch of Brazilian folk who can't speak any english, or for that matter even read english" kick!????? Nothing against Brazilians or any other nationality for Chrissake' but darn it all if your gonna hire people for customer service, don't cha think they otta be able to wrangle a little english???? Otherwise, let them mop floors or something where you don't need quite so much speaka the englase'!!!!! I just wanted a cup of coffee....no sugar...extra cream...very, very light.....NO the Great One.....No...that was no sugar, none, zero, zippo...yeah, thanks...thats better............15 minutes later!!!!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Go to the drive-thru and order a medium black coffee. "Do you want cream and sugar?" No, just black, please. "How many sugars?" Look Dammitall! Do I have to come in there and show your silly butt how to pour coffee. That's all you have to do pour the freaking coffee in a paper freaking cup and make sure the freaking top in on tight so's I don't wind up with "Big Jim and the twins" scalded bright red...again. Honest, all I want is a medium black coffee served to me right the first time without a war-wound!

I don't think there's a single convenience store clerk on all of Long Island who has English as his/her first language.

Urdu and Hindi seem to be the first languages of choice at 7/11 and DDs.

How about when you pay them. Hand them a fin for an extra large cream NO SUGAR and 2 plain donuts, total; $3.12. They hand you the dollar in one hand and the 88cents are cupped in the other hand. (they are expecting you to give them the change)When you keep your hand out for the change they look at you like ya are a cheap SOB. What gives, Dunkin Donuts used to have a sign on their display NO TIPPING ALLOWED If it is less than 25cents I let them have the change sometimes but almost a buck for pouring me a cup of coffee NOT

OK - last time damnit.

Wife calls me on phone. Honey you want a coffee?? Yupper. Make it medium decafe and 2 equals and cream.

Comes home - 2 cups, both annotated 2E C....Ahhhh which is the decafe honey?

After a taste - THIS ONE.

I can't drink regular coffee after 2pm after bypass surgery. So at 4 am this morning when she gets up to drive her sister to the airport I'm still staring at the clock. I got to get up at 5 anyway. Guess who DID NOT get the friggin decafe.

BTW - Driving from Rochester to Manchester Airport, the wife calls me and says 'Our ABS works great in snow because at the Brown St exit for the airport, I could feel the brakes pulsating and we stopped before the sign even.' But then the Ford F250 in back of me hit your Grand Cherokee and crushed the bumper and dented the tail gate.

So the wife gets Rear Ended on Brown Avenue on her birthday. Sure ruined my surprise for her tonight.

Grumpy !!!!!!!

See, your big problem up there is that y'all speak New England.

In most of the country, when you want a black coffee, you order a "black no sugar". Asking how many sugars is what they do if you don't specify "no sugar" as "black" just means, "no cream".

Up there, a "regular" is cream and 2 sugars. In the rest of the country, a "regular" is just a medium shade coffee. Two shots from the automatic creamer, usually. You have to say, "regular, 2 sugars" to get what you call a "regular".

Now if'n ya cain't expect a Noo Yawk college kid, or an Ohio grad student to know what ya mean by "regular" how can you expect a guy who came here from Pakistan 9 months ago to know?

Definitely some stuff that really gets under my grump in this thread. First on the coffee topic, how about if you ask for regular you also have to specify how much creme and sugar or you get half coffee and half milk with about six spoonfulls of sugar.
And what's the deal with "tips" cups at a fast food counter. The counterhelp did nothing but place an order someone else took and someone else made and wrapped in a bag and hands it to me and they deserve a tip? Yea right, here's your tip, buddy, "Don't bet on the sulkeys and don't bank on retiring to Florida on tips earned from me." Have a Penny-Give a Penny, that's a whole different story
The "tonic" "pop" "soda" and "grinder" "sub" "hoagie" discussions? Don't start, they could go on forever. (Although personally, if you ask me, tonic was something my barber used in my hair after he cut it...Kreml if I remember correctly).

worlds worst DD

coggsal st. north end NB. Luke warm coffee at best. Place is very dirty 24-7. I have witnessed the emploee's not putting $ in the register. Cash register has been broken for a long time, its always open with change all over the counter to speed things up at the drive through. They often wear what ever they want. There could be a line out the door employees out side smokin. It was like the only one before I headed east on 195, now they got honey dew across the street. I wait like months between vists to see if things change...NOPE, they sux more and more each time I go there.
I got stories at DD like I got fishin stories.

The whole reason that I drink black coffee is that the moronicans couldn't get cream no sugar right. So I think if they do Nothing, they can't wreck it right? WRONGO!! First they can't add cream , now they insist on it! And sugar too!!! One day I'll go inside and order a box of donuts and play human duck hunt with them. A jelly filled would look so good stuck to fell down the stairs with a tackle box idiiot's forehead.

The only funny DD story I have is when they opened a new DD near my old place of employment, I stopped in and picked up a dozen donuts and a Box-O-Joe for the guys that worked for me. Well this girl at work, who's dumber than a fence post, see's the donuts and she's salivating over them. I very nicely explained to her that I bought them for my guys but if she wanted some, she should run right down to the new DD's right away. I told her that for a short time that day everyone that went in there and said, "Aack, aack-a-daack, a dozen from the back" got the dozen free. Well,........she came back to work about 20 minutes later with steam coming off her ears she was so mad. She said all them foreigners just kept staring at her as she kept repeating it, speaking whatever language they spoke and laughing their arses off at her.
I don't think she's ever gone back into that place since.

sorry, I forgot this was a grumpage thread.

Mary Lous has to have the absolute worst coffee I have ever had, you must go there just for the eye candy! I would rather have a cup of Dunkins and I would rather get a cup of....uuughh.....McDonalds coffee before I ever get another cup of Mary Lous! And what is up with those Goddam stupid commercials...there is another reason for me not to go there!

Strange....I was just bitchin about DD's the other day.

I dont go there much but I did the other day and orfered a "regular" medium ice coffee. There was soo much sugar in that coffee I had to throw it out. I cant imagine someone asking for extra sugar.. you'd die.

Its best to do Cape Sam's method and make it at home... its cheaper and you get what you want.
