Redlite.....saw where you keep the old Land Rover!
Your folks live at 247 Main????? I saw the Rover with the racks on the front and it sure made me yearn for summer days at The Race! Soon enough though, right Redlite???? Soon enough!

I agree FWW, My buddy owns a 98 Discovery and it spends more time in the shop then the road!! He should have none when it was 1 day old and his wife took it to the car wash and it got stuck there!!
They show them on tv doing thur the mud water and just about anything and this one was dead in a car wash?? This was the beginning of ali sort s of crap to go on.
If they gave me one I would park it at the race at low tide and leave it there

Don't laugh, people do just that.
I used to be a frequent attendee of the North Country Machine Gun Shoot (I think the last one was in '93/94?) waaaay up in NH.
You should see the junkers that are donated for the firing line. They're positioned out 100 yards, and the sponsors typically rig 1/3 stick of dynamite in strategic locations.
Once the order on the firing line to "commence fire" is given by the RSO, you can hear the earth shatter "boom" of the dynamite going off. Usually the guys with the belt fed .30 cal's beat everyone to the dynamite.
Lemme go drag up a few pics...

That's the Family Compound.
The Rover is a 1973 Series III. It is hard to believe that the thing is 30 years old and starts right up and runs with no problems. Just a true nuts and bolts 4x4. LOVES the beach and woods. We have a new frame in the back yard that we need to get on it real soon.
I cleaned it out last weekend and I swear there was over 3 inches of sand in it. I didn't clean it all summer. The NAtional Seashore is probably gonna come fine me for illegal sand removal
As fot the Machine Gun shoot in N.H, yeah, I think the last one was in '94. My father and brother went, but I had stupid sports try outs We have pictures of my father and brother shootin some pretty sweet stuff (Tommy guns from the hip, the .50 cal sniper rifle). The picture they took of the Volvo with the twin machine gun turret on the top was pretty redefined anti horn honkin. Wish they would have it again. I think Hanson gun club still has theirs every year, but it is expensive to shoot.

Had a 74 rover inhighschool and into college, sold it in 98... the previous owner had rebuilt the engine and did a semi crappy job, so wasnt all that reliable :-(
My favorite story about my rover...
was traveling down a 4 lane street when some a-hole in front of me stops short, I jump lanes to my right, didnt see the vw fox and sideswiped him into the curb... totaled his front end... everyone was ok...
State Super Trooper pulls up, starts asking if all ok etc... looks at the VW, comes to my rover, asked where I hit him... I point to a black smudge he said, no really where did you hit him.. I said thats it, no dent or nothing.... the thing was an F'ing tank!
someday I will have another, when I have money and a real job, for now its thje academic life for me!

Yeah, we built this monstorous brush bar on the thing. You should see what I did to my pickup this summer wrapping it around the corner of the thing. Only damage to the Rover was my red paint stuck to the brush bar.

Sorry Redlite, I wasn't looking for people to slam your Rover, I tried to tell them it wasn't one of those new buckets of crap! That it is a classic! Can't wait to see you on the beach again, the sooner the better.
