large bass

Fishing the "secret" south shore spot "mile hole", I landed 11 fish saturday night up to 30 pounds on live eels,I also broke off with a couple.I was fishing alone and on the ebbing tide from 10pm till 1am.

There were tons of snd eels there and this was great to see!! Last time they were that heavy was in the 80s.

Stop chasing those toy school bass and sling those snakes at night !!!

RE:large bass

Sounds like a good plan #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&, but need to heel that shoulder a little bit more before I try and go tackle those big cows, glad too hear they are around this year, saw some good fish myself the other day at Chatam, but we were using artificials and doing pretty good just didn't hook the one I saw cruzing by, was about a 30lb fish also, maybe a little later in the year I will be able to scale up the gear and go for the cows. At least lets hope so. May the tight lines continue!!!!!!

Hey #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&, I dropped you an email yesterday. I know you are pretty busy out there chasing the Large. When you get a chance shoot me a reply, I'll be taking off for the next two days...

RE:large bass

thanks for the good wishes #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&, been strugling with this for 2 years and this was the 3rd surgery but it is gettin there, hopefully by Sept. I will be on the Vineyard slammin them with my 11 footer, I agree with you that this is going to be an outstanding year, have seen much better quality fish, and also alot of blue fish, don't like to eat them but they sure are fun on the light rods. Fished with John the other night, am going to take him to Chatam to a nice little spot we found down there and see if we can't pick up a few lunkers, we shall see. take care!!!!

RE:large bass

Bill, I hope to get down there this weekend finally (if nothing else prevents me from long drive fishing)... Good to hear nice bass are patrolling those shores!!!

FW - Old reliable has had some much larger bass rolling on the surf out in the mid-channel. You can see them from shore. Shoolie+Monster and I saw them a couple times over the weekend. Those bass appear to be 20# plus - tough to tell but certainly larger fish. Will need the long distance system to get out there though... We will need to arrange a Chatham visit

RE:large bass

I had monday off and I hit that certain spot... the fish were thick. I probably caught 50-60, mostly 20" range. Very few fish under 18". Very few casts that didn't see chasers. Again, there were some really nice lookin' pods of fish just out of casting range. Every 15 minutes or so I would see them cruising by. I took my 9' outfit and some larger plugs and was getting darn close to them. Had a couple of big blow ups and lost one that was definitely a better quality fish. I fished far into the tide and ended up wading out and fishing the channel and caught fish until I left. Gotta love those rainy, windy days!

But... I think I'm definitely ready to put the hooks to some of those "large bass" that #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^&'s talkin' about. Red Dawg... let me know if you are up for two trips to Rhody this weekend. I'm puttin' the roof rack on the Cherokee tonight. If not Rhody, maybe the Cape.

Later.

OK Schoolie+M (can't say S+M, cause people will think we're a bunch of perverts ) - I'm game for something - hoping to make one Rhody Run at least - have not been down there to chase the big girls yet... I'll let you know. Of course, I don't know if #^&#^&#^&#^&#^&#^& has forgiven you for falling asleep at Block last summer when the fish finally showed that night He may have the State Police out to make sure you don't cross into that state.... to the tune of Lionel Ritchie...inside joke
