I will be there when they open up on the 15th..driving a 2004 Chevy K2500 4 door, black, w/ aluminum contractors rack. If any of you recognize the truck, stop and say HI

Don't bother wasting your time camping out or waiting in line the first day...they physically can't sell them fast enough to sell out before before at least a week has passed. Exception is folks with self-contained vehicles....those will go real fast since there are only a couple hundred stickers.
Excluding self-contained vehicles, there are 2800 yearly stickers to sell at Race Pt each year.
I figure they can't sell them faster than about 2 every five minutes on a normal day with normal staffing...it's just not possible with the video, inspections, etc. That means about 25 stickers per hour. 8 hours per day, that means about 200 per day. In other words, two weeks is about as fast as it's going to sell out with normal staffing on hand.
That said, they'll probably ramp up staffing the first weekend in aniticpation of a rush, so they'll probably sell faster than that at first. Still, even if they're really cranking through them they would still only be able to sell 1,200-1,500 the first weekend.
Bottom line, give yourself and the rangers a break and don't camp out on the first day. By doing so, you're just feeding into this weird mania that has spread about stickers the last few years. We're only killing ourselves by feeding into it.

If you already have a race sticker all you do is bring your registration in they look it up and give you a new sticker, they don't come out and check like every other year. That will keep the line moving though.
