my boat
is as big as what it takes to float it....but for striper fishin , i get more out of standing waist deep in water having that connected feeling than being in a huge boat, although this year i'm planning many saltwater excursions in a sweetwater boat that can go where most larger saltwater boats cannot. Also it uses no gas!

Price will go up a little more and people will back off on consumption. The oil companies and OPEC will start losing profit and they will artifically uninflate the price.
Now all we need is some *$&#*&$#$(&$^($& at the state house to slap another few cents of TAX on gasoline to compensate for their lack of fiscal responsibility Taht will get the price right up there...........

screw alaska
i want carabou steaks for dinner 4 nights a week instead of chicken or beef. Spending billions on IRAQ for what ,,,increased oil and gas prices? That's the consumer (us) paying for that.
The economy is tough enough as it is . Time to look into alternate transportation for the short runs. The thing that really pisses me off is that we have the ability to suppliment our fossil fuels with home grown vegetable oil and or ethanol and the program for doing so...... is as slow as a snail.

Geez, I hate to sound like a mercenary but WTF? We're always the first to jump in and protect people around the world, FOR WHAT?
Look at the first time we went in there to save Kuwaits ass. They're a wealthy nation, it cost us billions, what did we get for it? Not even a thankyou.
Now we're doing it again. Costing us lives, bucks, hardship - for nada, it's not even appreciated.
We need to get some payback for this, and the logical currency is oil. I'm sick of being taken for a CHUMP.
It really pisses me off.
And I do know that there are moral, and security issues that require some action on our part - but something has to be done to give something back TO US, FOR A CHANGE

Ya it kills me raven that we have the technology but dont make it mandatory. We have all these soccer moms driving around in these huge suv's by themselves, burning a gallon every ten miles. Why doesnt the goverment make hybrid cars mandatory? Maybe because bush and cheney , and their friends have so much money invested in oill and theyd lose out??

in the last war
that we're still fighting.....the humvees were outfitted with mobile generators that allowed them the option of silent running out in the desert for a stealthy approach. Also it allowed the servicemen a source of power at remote locations to run lights and AC units when it was a sweltering 110 degrees.
That capability and new electrical storage mediums should be a standard within the automotive industry so that you have a choice. So if your just going a couple of miles to grab a gallon of milk in a 30 mile an hour zone there's no need to be burning gasoline at all.
People are already going NUTSO at the wacky sunday prices lining up around the block for a 8-cent reduction per gallon of gas as it is. The people that will suffer the most will be the tourism industry because the cost of going will become increasingly to costly.
where as i dont believe in isolationism.... i dont think we should be the world welfare organization either. Take france for example: they spit on us now for liberating their country. . The iraqi's were throwing bricks at us for rushing to their aid.... its not WORKING !

I am considering trading my truck in for a Prius ( gas electric hybrid ) EPA estimate of 60 to 51 mi per gallon looks real good compared to the 17 I get out of my truck.
