Question Beach Stickers?

I'm trying to find out some info on getting a beach sticker for next year. I'm not sure if I'm treading on dangerous water asking this, so I don't want to annoy people. I know the Race is the place to be, and I know that stickers are very tough to get. What does someone need to get a sticker? I know that some equipment is needed, but I'm not sure what. How much does a sticker cost? Does anyone know about Nauset Beach, can you get a sticker to drive out on that? Does it take the same equipment as the Race or is it different? Any info on getting a Beach Sticker for any of the Outer Cape Beaches would be a great help. Again, I dont want to get anyone upset ( like burning spots or anything ) but any help would be great.

P.S. How far do some of you guys drive to go out there?
Just curious where some of you guys are from.

Thanks Alot, Jay

Wink Its Public Info.....

You need a jack, a spare tire at least the same size as the ones you are runnin' on your buggy, a tire pressure gauge that reads down to 5 psi, a jack board...12"x12" 3/4 inch plywood, a shovel...one of those military style folding shovels will do....a tow strap....15' long.....and a full day to stand in line waiting for your sticker at the Race! Stickers this season went up to $100.00 from $65.00 last year and are expected to increase again for next year. Hope I helped.

I drive two hours down and two hours home every time I go down unless I am staying there for a few days.

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Besides a tire pressure gauge, jack, board, tow rope/chain, and shovel it might be a good idea to have a tent and two day supply of food and water because you if they don't change the way they do business, you'll have to camp out in the ranger station parking lot in order to get a sticker. All kidding aside, the National Seashore issues stickers on a quota system which gets filled faster and faster every year. This year traffic was backed up all the way out on Rte 6 on some days because so many guys were trying to get their sticker before the quota was met.
Nauset Beach on the other hand will issue out stickers all year long. They only allow x-amount of trucks on at any given time. This limits the daytime beach goers and surfers but does not limit the night time surfcaster. Either way, its a lot of money to pay for casting practice and seal watching.

Nauset stickers are always on sale, info off of the Town of Orleans web-site, under the FAQ section.
Beach gear as mentioned above, plus 165 green backs for this year, heard that increases are being discussed for next year.
Just about 8 miles available to drive on now, and all the mung you can handle

YOu need a Yuppie/Homo SUV with all sorts of BS crap on the roof. A wife that is a hot little beeyotch and a 15' surf rod with a hopkins on the end. The place that sold you the car should realize that you are going on the beach. It's there fault if they don't give a shovel, etc.

know wud im sayin ?

yeah BW, I came upon a new wrangler with a blown transfer case the other night...he wanted to know how to get ahold of AAA...LOL, I said they won't go past the parking lot..... He wanted to know what was wrong with his jeep, after I figgered it out, he asked, so, can I replace a fuse for that? (serious, too!)
Beach Patrol asked me to tow him out of the way, I pulled him about 50 feet max, kind of a tough pull (?), I check after I unhooked him, yep, HARD tires all around (Oh, and BTW, he had no tow rope, used mine, musta had no air gage either!) He was ranting and raving about the cost of the repair, till I reminded him he had 7/70 on that chrysler/jeep..... but he didn't want to pay for the tow company to get him off the beach!!!
He was only about 7 miles from the pavement
Dealer should have given him the equipment, and taught him how to drive in the sand.....

Hard tires KarlF???? I would have left him where he sat and/or told the friggin' Beach Patrol to tow him....I would not risk damage to my own vehicle for some uninformed, ignorant clown who should not be out there to begin with! They need to learn the hard way....let them pay the freight on a 4wd tow!

Almost time to get our fish on!!!

Well, I shoulda check them tires first , actually I wanted him outta the way, he was in the back trail and no way around him. Beach Patrol has orders NOT to tow, so, I didn't have much choice, I needed him outta the way...
This clown told the one and only tow guy for Nauset he wasn't going to pay the $.... I heard later, that after the beach cop explained that if he didn't have it towed, the town would order it towed and impounded, costing more than the original tow quote. After a call to his brother... his brother called the tow guy, the brother paid for the tow, and told the tow guy what a long term a-hole his brother was...... Ahhh, siblings

Karl, it just goes to show you that boaters aren't the only ones who have to deal with idiots with enough money to buy a 4x4 and want to drive on the beach. That guys sticker should have been scrapped.

Messing up with a Wrangler? Isn't that like tying your left shoe to your right, or something?

A Partsjay! I spent 81/2 hours standing in line on Easter Sunday to spend 100 hard earned bucks to drive on less than 3 miles total of Plover infested beach at P-town. Did I get my money's worth? may be if I can catch a fish through the mung

Blown transfer case? What'd he do, try to shift into low range at 20 mph?

Mu stepson torched the one in his Wrangler, but at least he skidded on an icy patch in upstate NY and split it open on the rock he landed on in the ditch.

I'm also wondering how he managed to get 7 miles down the beach from the gatehouse in the first place

Well Mike I'll tell you.... (apologies to partsjay, this thread is now officially hi-jacked )
When the call was placed to my buddy Dennis the tow guy, his response was...:"Let me guess, red wrangler top down, big hard BFG's on it, spent most of the afternoon/evening getting stuck, cloggin' the trails, refusing to let air out of his tires?"... Dennis had seen this guy buried to the arse at trail 3 earlier in the day, and had heard about him from his (Dennis') wife, she was at #6 in their motorhome, guess he had trouble their too...
So, it seems he was trying all day to harm some part of the running gear on that poor wrangler.... when his brother spoke with Dennis, he informed him that this was his brothers first and last trip on the sand... Dennis said he mentioned that his brother asked for a ride home (about 90 miles off cape)... the guys brother said... "Tell him to get a friggin' room!"
