My First Striper From The Beach

I do just about all my fishing from a boat (i can hear the groans now) - this was my first sb from the beach and it was a keeper!! Man was I fired up!

This is our first full day of vacation here on MV - woke up to a beautiful sunrise decided to walk down to the beach and wet a line - not really expecting much. Tossed a 9" sluggo and a nice fish took her about 6 feet from shore. Didn't take much of a run before i beached her - she was about 30" Nice way to start a vacation!

I went boat fishing this weekend and all I got was a sunburn. The seas off Gay head were brutal, I think I'll stick to surfcasting thank you

bassman....

good for you! Wait till you take a cow from the beach...you'll get really hooked.

spence... the wind was against the tide on sunday morning...it was rough. I took run down that way looking for another big doormat for my wife. She got a couple the largest in the low 7's (not quite good enough for the current state entry) then the kids started feeling sick and we came home. When you have a stong west running tide and a 20+ knot wind from the west ...it can get snotty. It laid down a bit when the tide changed and the wind dropped a bit but we were home already. So much for the forecast...where was that 5-10 they were talking about?

My buddy has a 21' Tripp Angler that doesn't have a very deep hull, you really get pounded in those swells. Not fun to look over the side of the boat and see nothing below you but air, my spine is still hurting over that one

Great job on the shore fish!
