Anyone fish the slop last night?
Just wondering if anyone braved the downpours and winds last night and had any luck. Im gonna go tonight, when it calms down a little.

Went out for a couple of hours last night......nothing. I got the skunk on bad right now. Won't be abe to get out until next week either.
I have vacation in a couple of weeks and I see some trips down to the Cape and/or RI in its future....things have been dead up here.

went out last night at the ditch and I got soaked! I fished for an hour or so but the lights on the canal went out. I stayed for another half an hour waiting for the lights to come back on but I decided to leave without the saftey of the lights ( even though I had plenty of lights with me.).

1 fish 25.2 lbs in a raging surf, pouring rain and 25 knot winds. SNOTTY but worth it.

1 30" fish on a fat needle. 2 other hits.
It was hard to see and stand up.
Wet suit rocks for wild surf.
Hard to stay awake at work now

Too old & out of shape to fish in that weather //but I did wait until the rain stopped & smoked them /
6 hours of non-stop action for two old timers
80% bass
from shore/larger around 12#
it was some thing two old guys fishin & talking about the old days //sit down talk some more then fish again ///
me == at leasta 20 year old glass rod /made by the original Erickson brothers /with the Oka/whatever reel /with a $5 bottle popper r/y made by plug man
the other old timer / old glas s 9 footer /probably off the shelf .. original green 704 Penn . with a sawed off bail //probably original line .original c/c popper////
the stories were great & each new the other wasn,t b/s,n
he talked about going down the pier //& a 40 was common // talked how the bail spring would always snap //but they never has backup reels // on bringing in a 49 pounder /by turning the spool by hand ///didn,t want to just pull it in by hand// because the line would have been lost in the rocks /// messing up his {{next}} cast/////
to me sittin there I realize how I won,t troll & I really don,t care about the size of the bass///
here is another old timer /that has the same feelings towards blues //& never fishes for the big ones // matter of fact he only fishes a couple of times a year /even thou he,s on the water every day //////
we,ll its time to go & see if we lefy any //////////////////////////////////

I was out last night getting wet from the waves and rinsed by the rain ,it was AWESOME ! There's something very humbling and wonderful about fishing in a stormy ocean . I got a 21 lb. striper to make it a great night.

Sweet joe!!!What did you catch it on Joe? Your tins were mentioned in the reports in the fishermen and also in the saltwater edge report this week too Joe. Wish i woulda went out last night, almost did , but i had to be at work at 8am. Went tonight for 2 hours without a bump, wind died right down around 10:30. The surf was still pretty big too, water not too weedy.
